Too often, politics tries to divide us in order to persuade us. I’m not here to do that.
I’ve voted across different parties over the years. I care about policy, of course, but also care about who’s leading, how they lead, and what they stand for. That’s why I’m supporting Mark Carney.
I came to this country with my family when I was very young. Canada gave us a chance. A fresh start, filled with possibility. It didn’t come easy. It came with hard work, persistence, and a deep belief in what this country makes possible. That’s what I see in Carney. He understands what it takes to build something brave and real. He brings the discipline of business, the credibility of global leadership, and the values of someone who sees Canada not just for what it is but for all it can be.
He leads with both strength and empathy. He’s committed to protecting women’s rights, advancing equality, and fostering a culture of inclusion and respect. These are values that matter deeply to me and to the kind of country I want to live in.
Carney has a plan for our economy that will strengthen Canada’s role in the world and improve life here at home. He’s focused on restoring productivity, securing our trade relationships, and unlocking the full value of what Canada offers, from energy and critical minerals, to innovation and talent. But it’s not just about global standing. It’s about making sure Canadians benefit. He cares immensely about our future prosperity and wants Canada to lead. Economically. Strategically. Morally.
In the short time he’s been Prime Minister, he’s already shown what real leadership looks like. He is not just managing through our existing crisis. He is laying the foundation for long-term strength. It takes experience and commitment to defend a country in the middle of a tariff war, global volatility, and rising political pressure, while also working to build a more secure future here at home. And it is certainly not easy to do all of that while running a national election campaign.
But that is what strong leadership demands. And it takes real world experience to meet that moment. Mark Carney is doing exactly that. He’s led through global financial crises, advised nations, and built institutions not for headlines, but for lasting stability. Now he’s leading Canada with heart, with courage, and with the kind of steady, intelligent and expert vision that gets us through crisis and builds what comes next.
I trust him and I’m standing with him.
Today I turned 70 and I'm afraid of the future for the first time in my life. My wife and I were in the front of the line on Friday. If this had been an ordinary election I would have voted for Jagmeet, on Friday I voted for Mark Carney because I love Canada. I have never been ashamed to say, "I'm Canadian" and no matter what happens, I always will. I see Pierre shouting his shallow vows and promising us the world so he can upgrade his mansion and golf at Mar-a-Lago. I watched the citizens of the US vote for the worst human on earth, believing his lies and I see us doing the same. I see Danielle Smith, Kevin O'Leary and Pierre Poilievre. This is why I fear the future.
Absolutely the right choice at the right time!
